I appreciate that Maas didn’t kill people left and right just because it was the ending and someone had to die. If it weren’t had been for the Thirteen’s sacrifice no one would have survived. There weren’t any major character deaths other than Gavriel and the Thirteen and while some people are mad and feel like Maas took the easy way out, I think the deaths she did write had a meaning, especially the Thirteen. A lot of the characters were pushed back in this book since there was so many but hopefully they will get their own spinoff books. Dorian and Manon’s POV’s in the beginning were a little slow compared to other POV’s in the story which made me want to skip them.

There was a lot of POV changes which was sometimes frustrating. This book was full of characters which made it a little confusing and hectic. It was a good mixture of action and strategizing. Maas found a way for war strategizing to be interesting. This was a very slow-burning book but I didn’t mind at all. Some bonds will grow even deeper, while others will be severed forever in the explosive final chapter of the Throne of Glass series.
